Achieving a solidified place in the footwear space for his unique creative flair, Salehe Bembury is now setting his sights on PUMA Hoops.
Rightfully gaining traction for his weird and wonderful endeavours at Versace and Yeezy, NYC designer Salehe Bembury knows exactly how to create something that’s as fun as it is progressive. Delivering a plethora of hits for everyone’s favourite unconventional footwear brand, Crocs, it’s safe to say that we’re buzzing for what the multi-hyphenate is cooking up for PUMA.
Debuting the good news in an official announcement from the German powerhouse, Bembury will be designing the next signature basketball sneaker, as well as looking out for the label’s next signature athlete. No easy task, of course, but considering his life-long relationship with the sport, we know the division is in perfectly good hands.
“While my work has been known to cater to the outdoor space, a space I recently developed an intimate relationship with, my partnership with Puma Hoops will allow me to tell a more deeply rooted personal story. As a 90’s kid from New York City, I’ve played basketball my whole life and have a deep history, emotion, and nostalgia for the sport. I’m excited to leverage this collaboration as a catalyst to introduce an untold side of me and engage a new community.” – Salehe Bembury
