The Umbro x Boiler Room collab is for the culture
In a collaboration born out of love for the culture, Umbro x Boiler Room joins forces to give us all the feelings of community, freedom and unity.
Taking it back to the glory days of the club scene, this partnership draws direct inspiration from the nostalgic intersection between football, music and fashion. Regardless of individual experiences and circumstances, these subcultures found harmony in and amongst the chaos of sweaty bodies, a heavy bass and strobe lights. The Umbro x Boiler Room collection is a reflection of just that – the liberation, creativity and authenticity that community provides.
Boiler Room’s creative director, Amar Ediriwira, shared her thoughts on the partnership after expressing admiration for Umbro’s iconic heritage. “We thought it would be fun to come together to design a uniform for Boiler Room. What does our team look like? It’s constantly changing but it’s always open, energetic, & diverse. A hyperlocal crew with a global mindset.”
Featuring a kit that will have you looking fresh on whichever field you may choose to enter (be it beside a goalpost or DJ), the collection is equipped with a black 3-piece drawstring tracksuit, giving you the option of both shorts and joggers. Red Umbro x Boiler Room branding adorns each segment of the 3-piece, embellished in a glossy vinyl finish.
What would this collaboration (featuring one of the most iconic sportswear brands in British culture) be without some footy-inspired jerseys? Flaunting both long-sleeved and short-sleeved silhouettes that contrast starkly in tonal palette, these pieces are ideal for those who like to rock an effortless fit with maximum impact. Parading a neon green hue with black accents, the ‘Goalkeeper Jersey’ is printed with a blurred X-Ray design, also present within its short-sleeved counterpart. Despite the secondary jersey being predominantly black, Umbro x Boiler Room were sure to keep the X-Ray alive, this time displayed via an electric blue. The radiographic imagery is intended to symbolise that underneath we are all the same, uniting as one, big team.
Acting as an essential piece for any rave or football fit, the collab includes an oversized black graphic tee, decorated on the back and front sides with highlighter yellow Umbro x Boiler Room branding. And the final cherry on top of the collection? None other than the reversible black-to-neon sweat towels. This OG accessory (if we can call it that) is the secret to maintaining your coolness from the heart of the field to centre-stage.
