Making a comeback that even a psychic couldn’t see coming – the Nike Air Footscape Woven Cow Print arrives ready and raring to go. Created in 1969 by Tory Orzeck, the model is a perfect blend of two OG players – the Air Footscape and Air Woven. The result? An authentically diverse design that offers a refreshingly new perspective. And if the silhouette itself wasn’t charismatic enough, slap a lairy cow print on it, and you’ve got a wonderfully chaotic iteration that somehow still feels put-together.
Differentiating itself from its Black counterpart within this year’s SNKRS Day ‘23 line-up, the Cow print iteration is an obvious head-turner. Communicated via faux fur panelling throughout the upper, the sneaker sits on a cleanly cream midsole. The asymmetric wrap around oozes an aesthetic complexity that we just can’t get enough of – albeit visually loud. Referencing back to its Air Woven predecessor, the woven structure pays homage to the shoe’s birth era of the 90s – a time when Nike’s design exploration was second-to-none. Also creating classics like the Air Max 97 and Air Huarache during this period, we’re thankful to the Swoosh for referencing this golden age.
With the Air Footscape Woven undergoing a special release as part of SNKRS Day, we’re feeling pretty positive about what else Nike have in store for the silhouette. Looking towards the latter half of 2023, the kicks are expected to be released in more colourways, with new collaborators. Despite mixed reviews from sneakerheads, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t excited for what’s to come.
