Sporty & Rich reunites with adidas to reimagine three Handball Spezial designs, complemented by a matching apparel collection—all inspired by the timeless appeal of classic American colleges. Led by founder Emily Oberg, the New York-based brand brings its signature varsity aesthetic to the Handball SPZL and coordinating pieces.
Sporty & Rich, the lifestyle brand founded by Emily Oberg, reunites with adidas for another fresh Handball Spezial release. Building on their past successful collaborations, this latest drop introduces three new colourways: ‘Night Indigo,’ ‘Dark Green,’ and ‘Shadow Red.’ Each pair is crafted from premium nubuck leather with suede overlays and a satin lining.
Each colorway features a sleek monochromatic design. White accents, including the Three Stripes on the side panel and the Sporty & Rich logo on the tongue, create a striking contrast against the subdued base tones.
A key highlight of the design is the golden Sporty & Rich branding on the side, replacing the traditional “Handball Spezial” text and adding a touch of luxury to the retro silhouette. The sneakers are finished with a semi-transparent gum rubber outsole for a classic look. Inside, leather insoles feature co-branded adidas and Sporty & Rich logos, emphasising the collaboration.
The coordinated apparel lineup includes a crewneck sweatshirt and track pants, each available in the same three colourways as the sneakers.
Reflecting the footwear’s design, the pieces are finished with signature Three Stripes detailing and co-branding. This latest collection definitely embodies Sporty & Rich’s signature minimalist aesthetic…
The adidas Originals x Sporty & Rich collection launches on February 27, 2025, at 8am, at adidas and selected retailers. Stay tuned to the Drop Date news page for any updates.
