The Swoosh has thumbed through the 1997 files in its archives once again, this time to revisit and winterize a Tinker Hatfield classic runner, delivering the NIKE ZOOM TALARIA MID FLYKNIT.
The OG Nike Air Zoom Talaria silhouette was a big hit with runners back in the day, largely thanks to the Nike Zoom Air cushioning technology that the brand introduced a couple of years prior, which was bottom loaded and combined with flex grooves in the outsole’s forefoot – providing runners with the maximum amount of responsive cushioning. Earlier this year, NikeLab reissued that OG version with a few modern updates, and now revisits it once again but with a host of winterized touches. This latest iteration is fitted with a water-resistant Flyknit upper and suede side panels, a warm mid-cut collar and the outsole unit has been beefed up to help improve the foot’s purchase on snowy and icy surfaces. As a finishing touch, metal eyelets provide a premium, trail boot touch.
The new silhouette will be available in two contrasting colourways, a black/grey version and the other in white/platinum. Fact fans: the name ‘Talaria’ was taken from the winged sandals worn by the ancient Greek messenger god Hermes (or ‘Mercury’ if you prefer the Roman gods) who flew as swift as a bird. In a somewhat painful segue, The Drop Date is going to predict that these mid tops will swiftly fly off the shelves after they go on sale, so if you want to grab a pair, be prepared to act fast.
The NIKE ZOOM TALARIA MID FLYKNIT will drop on THURSDAY 1 DECEMBER. Click the banner below to check the release page containing full stockist details.
