Stalwart British shoemaker Clarks is the latest brand to elbow its way into the Offspring 20th birthday party, bringing a pair of the CLARKS X OFFSPRING WALLABEES with it.
Which Clarks are we talking about? The Wallabees – beloved by Ghostface, mods, Jamaican rude boys, terrace casuals, ravers, and a great many others – is one shoe that is very deserving of that oft-used and oft-abused adjective: iconic. Idiosyncratic, too. Not a word you see too often when it comes to footwear, but what other shoe looks like the Wallabee? Originally inspired by mocassins, the truly iconic Wallabee has its origins in the late 1960s when Clarks had the Irish cobblers at the Padmore & Barnes factory in County Kilkenny make the distinctive shoes with their crepe soles, which are fashioned from latex tapped from the para rubber tree. What better shoe to celebrate 20 years of Offspring, a silhouette that has stood the test of time? The Offspring release includes some new features, including a pony fur vamp, woven leather cuff, tassel laces loop and natural crepe sole. Look inside and you’ll see a 20th anniversary sock stamp, and as a finishing touch, there’s an Offspring shoe tag.
Limited to only 200 pairs, the CLARKS X OFFSPRING WALLABEES will launch on FRIDAY 2 DECEMBER and will be available via the banner below.
