The NIKE SB DUNK LOW DE LA SOUL is the next release from Nike’s skateboarding subsidiary to get us feeling all nostalgic.
Let’s start with a bit of a history lesson… Back in 2005, NIKE SB released two Dunks, a low and a high, inspired by the DE LA SOUL album 3 FEET HIGH AND RISING which released in 1989. It was the first time the brand had worked with hip-hop artists and it all stemmed from an informal meeting at a convention in San Diego in 2004.
Back to the present day and we see the colourways re-released, but with a twist. We’ve already seen the High version drop earlier this year, with its colourway taken from the original Low version and now this DUNK LOW does the reverse by utilising the colourway that was seen on the original High back in 2005. The brown base is overlaid by a dark green elephant patterned panel on the toe and light green on the swoosh and heel. What really stands out though is the panel that goes from the heel to the lace stay panel that features graphics taken straight from the aforementioned album cover. Light brown trim along the edges of the panels adds a bit more detail and contrast, while a green midsole and black outsole rounds things off.
The NIKE SB DUNK LOW DE LA SOUL is scheduled to drop on SATURDAY 16 MAY and will be available via the RELEASE PAGE, which you can link to below.
