The NIKE AIR MAX 95 OG NEON is rumoured to return once again in its (almost) original form, giving everyone another opportunity to add a fresh pair of one the all-time greatest shoes to their collection.
As 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the original design’s release, the Nike Air Max 95 Neon remains to be one of the few shoes that we’ll never tire of seeing. When designing the Air Max 95, Sergio Lozano took inspiration from a variety of natural sources: the iconic sidewalls were inspired by gradients and patterns caused by erosion, whilst other sections were an interpretation of the human body and its layers of muscle and tissue. Featuring a supportive mesh upper with leather and synthetic overlays, the Max Air units in the heel and forefoot provide lightweight impact protection, with the rubber outsole ensuring durable traction underfoot. After its original 1995 debut, it reappeared in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2015 – and now it looks set to drop once again for its quarter-century birthday. Over time, the PSI detail vanished – and then reappeared – and the air unit became significantly smaller, but few would complain at seeing this one return to the shelves once more.
