Eric Koston has been part of the Nike SB team since 2009. Since then, his vision and connection to Nike heritage have already left a mark on several SB designs. The 30th anniversary of the Air Max 95 in 2025 now seems like the perfect occasion for a customised Koston version of this silhouette…
You’ll spot ‘Koston’ branding on the right tongue label, while the heel and sole feature the classic Nike SB logos. A Thai inscription on the toe pays tribute to Koston’s heritage and his early Nike SB collaborations. The colourway is also inspired by the University of Michigan, blending shades of Obsidian, Speed Yellow, and Summit White. Feel free to check out the images for more design details…
What you can’t see in the pictures: This version of the Air Max 95 has been reworked with skateboarders in mind, featuring a wider fit, a tougher outsole, and extra cushioning for impact control. Of course, we’ve already seen this Nike Air Max 95 Skateboard version earlier this year with the Nike SB x Nike Air Max 95 ‘Cactus Flower’.

The Eric Koston x Nike SB Air Max 95 ‘Obsidian’ and the Flannel Longsleeve ‘Midnight Navy’ are set to drop on 7 November 2025 at 9 AM via Nike.

The Nike Air Max 95 is a classic silhouette from Nike that has been around since 1995. It’s a street-style sneaker featuring the signature Air Max cushioning. The SB (Skateboarding) version of the Air Max 95 has been reworked with skateboarders in mind, offering a wider fit, a more durable outsole, and extra cushioning for impact control on the board. A first example is the Nike SB x Nike Air Max 95 ‘Cactus Flower,’ which dropped in 2025.
