Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE V Libertea | A Quick Trip Back to 2015
After a long 8 years off, Concepts and ASICS make a patriotic comeback to deliver the Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE V Libertea. What better way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the GEL-LYTE V model than with the revival of a collaborative creation?
Going by the name of “Libertea”, this model references the Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE III “Boston Tea Party” in ways beyond the visual palette. The original colourway nods to a historic happening, whereby a group of Colonists had demolished a British tea shipment. Due to this occurrence happening at Boston Harbour, it was branded as the “Boston Tea Party” – a title that struck a creative chord within the Concepts x ASICS partnership.
Landing as a visually similar product to the partnerships 2015 predecessor, Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE III “Boston Tea Party”, this rendition pulls the same colour palette of red, white and blue into the mix. Not forgetting the striking gold and silver metallic tiger stripes, of course, mismatched on the lateral and medial side. Uppers consist of a seamless integration of both breathable mesh and plush suede. The suede toe cap sports a beige hue, in conjunction with the front sector of the outsole.
The Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE V Libertea model comes with two additional laces (black and pink), packaged in a shoe box that resembles wax wood patterning. The faux wood effect is also reflected within the insole, flaunting authentic ASICS and Concepts branding.
