An action packed collab | Action Bronson x New Balance 990v6 Lapis Lazuli
The Boston-based powerhouse is back with another legendary collaboration – and this time it’s the ACTION BRONSON X NEW BALANCE 990v6 ‘Lapis Lazuli’. Teaming up with Queens rapper and wrestler Action Bronson, you can expect a visually complementary dynamic that brings a splash of colour to the conventionally grey-scale 990 series.
Described by Bronson himself as “high elegance, thoughtful and harmonious”, the overlay flaunts a spectrum of blue shades including teal, cobalt and deep navy. A creamy yellow hue decorates the midsole with a retro look, whilst a tawny brown floods outsole detailing. Timberland-esque laces only add to the spectacle that is the Action Bronson x New Balance 990v6 – proving that maximalism makes for a bloody solid collaboration. A gentle touch of metallic silver graces ‘N’ branding and upper panelling, providing the cherry on top for this banger of a sneaker.
This isn’t the first ‘out-there’ collaboration we’ve seen from New Balance so far this year, with the brand also teaming up with the likes of JJJFound and Salehe Bemburry. We’re gassed to see what else NB has in the locker for the second half of the year. If this collaboration is anything to go by, we’re ready to expect the unexpected.
