The NIKE X SACAI AIR FOOTSCAPE gives a little more airtime to a mid 90’s cult classic, handing the baton to Chitose Abe. Meticulously designed to sync up with the foot’s natural profile, the Footscape first hit shelves in 1996. Some may say it’s a bit of a Marmite shoe but its many variations over the years prove that there is definitely a dedicated following out there, us included. The Footscape’s off-kilter design fits in well with sacai’s design language, making it a match made in heaven for founder Chitose Abe. Spotted on feet during the sacai Paris FW23 runway, the supposed collab sports a hiking-inspired mid-rise suede and mesh construction complete with padded collars. The label’s signature doubled-up details are also applied across the laces and midsole.
Ahead of sacai’s SS24 reception, we’ve recently had a closer look at the brands latest collaboration with the Nike Footscape, and we certainly aren’t disappointed. Parading a rustic brown body, we’re sure that this will be an autumnal hit – rumoured to be around the time that we’ll see the sneaker drop.
