The ADIDAS ORIGINALS SAMBA CLASSIC OG MIG shows why it’s one of adidas’ oldest models in circulation…

The word “iconic” gets bandied about a fair amount in the trainer world, but it’s safe to say that the Samba is just that. Emerging in 1950, the original shoe was designed by adidas founder Adi Dassler as a high-performance football model. The Samba soon made its way off the pitch, with it’s streamlined and versatile style making it ripe for everyday casual wear.

Standing the ultimate test of time, it’s become one of the oldest adidas footwear models in regular circulation. A bold statement that speaks volumes for the shoe’s popularity, it makes its way back to the shelves this week with a new drop that pays homage to the original Samba silhouette.

Starting with a vintage white nubuck base, serrated 3-stripes take to the side in core black, with the T-toe panel finished in a rough off-cream suede. The model’s embossed long tongue can’t be forgotten, taking shape in moulded black leather with oversized white trefoil branding. A translucent gum outsole adds the perfect finish to this terrace classic, bringing a shoe that’s almost seven decades old back to the forefront of contemporary street style.
