What can you say about the ADIDAS ORIGINALS GAZELLE? People throw the word ‘classic’ around like it’s going out of fashion, but the Gazelle really is one of the most distinguished of trainers. This summer is going to see a strong comeback for this clean suede shoe, so let’s investigate…
The reintroduction of the Gazelle brings back one of the defining shoes of its era. The original model first released in 1966, but it’s the 1991 iteration that we’re presented with for the coming months. This version of the silhouette is more streamlined compared to the 2000s version, resulting in a look that’s more akin to the original design. The perforated Pigskin suede uppers are durable and stylish, with the leather Three Stripes and heel tab adding a touch of contrast to the clean lines. The rubber cup sole unit holds the heel firm without compromising flexibility. Many of us can remember skateboarding in the adidas Gazelle: it became one of the most popular shoes in the early ’90s era of street skating, adopted by many because of the lightweight uppers and flexible sole unit. Today, it transcends all boundaries as an all-round excellent design.
The ADIDAS ORIGINALS GAZELLE is due to release at selected stockists on SATURDAY 4 JUNE. Click the banner below to check the release page ahead of the drop.
