The ADIDAS ORIGINALS ISLAND SERIES continues the brand’s revisitation of some of their staple models from the 1980s.
Up first is the JAMAICA, which sports a yellow suede upper, contrasted by black on the tongue, three stripes, heel panel and lining. The black continues on to the indoor midsole, which is rounded off by the ever-popular choice of a gum outsole. The CANCUN is the next release, which goes with a grey upper, with hits of brown on the lining, three stripes and heel used to add the contrast. The brown continues on to the midsole for a clean look, which is continued with the use of minimal branding. Rounding things off is the TRINIDAD, where orange is used as the base colour, with black providing the contrast. Unlike the other colourways, the contrasting colourway doesn’t continue onto the sole, where a gum sole is used instead. Each pair is rounded off with gold foil branding on the lateral side, with the name of each model featured respectively. The ISLAND SERIES will always be a classic, so it’s nice to see each of the models making a comeback in such clean colourways.
The ADIDAS ORIGINALS ISLAND SERIES will be split into three releases, with the JAMAICA dropping on THURSDAY 30 JULY, whose RELEASE PAGE you can ink to below, followed by the CANCUN on SATURDAY 29 AUGUST and finishing with the TRINIDAD on FRIDAY 30 OCTOBER.
