One Block Down x Mizuno ‘Flame Wave’ Hits The Ground Running
Introducing the One Block Down x Mizuno ‘Flame Wave’ capsule, the lovechild of Swedish label One Block Down and footwear veteran Mizuno.
Founded back in 1906, the Japanese sportswear giant Mizuno has established itself as a go-to choice for refined high-performance tech. Pushing the boundaries of design innovation and style, the brand has found itself infiltrating a plethora of subcultures across the field. In celebration of the undeniable legacy and impact of Mizuno, as well as the streamlined aesthetic of OBD, the ‘Flame Wave’ capsule is born. Consisting of three stealthy sneaker offerings and apparel, we must say, we’re really feeling this one!
Utilising design elements from the Wave Rider 10 and archival models, these kicks are dripping in attention to detail. The apparel offering includes a tracksuit, tank, running shorts, hat and balaclava, so you can embody the movement from head to toe. Let’s take a look at the sneakers on offer…
A Closer Look at the One Block Down x Mizuno ‘Flame Wave’
Landing in three contrasting palettes of ‘Amazon’, ‘Onyx’ and ‘Koi’ – these stealthy kicks exude contemporary steez. The deconstructed upper works atop an airy mesh base, providing a dynamic foundation for the overlaid detailing. A flame-inspired panel glides around the front sector of the silhouette, communicated with anodized material for a glossy finish. Reflecting the same hue that sits behind the grey netting, each iteration palettes also expresses white hits throughout.
The midsole takes on a crisp white midsole, whilst silvery grey tones dance around the exterior. Co-branding takes shape as a flaming sun sitting proudly on the heel, symbolising the trailblazing partnership between One Block Down and Mizuno. It’s pretty evident that the duo have hit the ground running with this inaugural collaboration. Safe to say – we’re buzzing for whatever may follow!
