Nike SNKRS Day 2023 was undoubtedly one for the books – and we’re here to tell you all about it. From tunes provided by Foundation FM to inspirational talks by A-COLD-WALL*’s Dr Samuel Ross, the event championed creativity and community. Joined by presenter & content creator Kym Pham who covered the day over on our socials, there was good energy from start to finish. Read on and stay locked on our socials @thedropdate to see what we got up to.
Situated at Old Billingsgate in the city of London, Nike weren’t shy to pull out the stops this year. Annual SNKR Live host Az and Goldie Quaker were sure to kept the energy flowing throughout the day. As we walked into the venue, we were immersed in the SNKRS Day universe. Each space within the location felt perfectly executed, just like each release that dropped throughout the day. The first space adopted lively sounds by Foundation FM, an (extremely Instagrammable) photo set-up and stocked bar. This was the perfect environment for cooling off and socialising, especially in the 31 degree London heat (yep)! We got an up-close and personal look at the drops of the day; creatively displayed on a conveyor belt system.
Styling workshops run by Rhiannon Isabel, Ryan Lovell and Brianna definitely had attendees feeling themselves. What better way to inspire the next generation of fashion connoisseurs, ay? The space also included tooth gem and hair stencil stations, so you could elevate your SNKRS Day look. Our personal favourite Swoosh stencil look had to be from influencer Jay Tagle, who was brave enough to flex the vibe. The bar was set extremely high by the attendees and staff when it came down to ‘fits, and we couldn’t help but snap a picture of our faves. Foundation FM resident Juliette Motamed is amongst our best dressed list, alongside the likes of digital creators Jade and Sadwa. Check out all of the ‘fits we captured over on our socials!
In the spirit of the nearly released ACW x Nike Air Max Plus, one of the spaces saw a variety of encapsulated Air Max Plus from over the years. Even some OG’s made an appearance (in an unbelievably mint condition). Leading us into an up-close look at the collaborative TN’s, we were fortunate enough to listen to an intimate talk from Dr Samuel Ross and filmmaker/photographer Gabriel Moses. The talk covered everything from the inspiration behind the Nike partnership to sharing advice for up and coming creatives. The words of wisdom left us feeling inspired, and we’re grateful to Nike SNKRS for hosting such motivating stories.
The inspiration didn’t end there, with a second panel talk from the three founders of London-based creative agency paq. The talk discussed their journey, taking risks and what Nike sneakers meant to them. Workshops hosted by Greater Goods (sustainable design project) and BeauBeau’s cafe (the hottest spot for creatives) kept the community engaged with hands-on activities. Topping the day off was none other than a banging after-party, with appearances from Lancey Foux and class DJ sets.
In summary, the day was a truly unforgettable experience. It was a joy to see the sneaker community united in a way that appreciates the culture. If you didn’t manage to cop the Nike SNKRS Day 2023 releases, check StockX for a second chance at grabbing.
Big up’s to everyone involved, and we’ll see you there next year! 🙂
