Sleek, dimensional and nostalgic, we’ve got a first look at the revived Nike Air Huarache Runner and we’re certainly not disappointed.
Initially inspired by neoprene water skiing boots, the Air Huarache silhouette holds an assured spot within Nike’s hall of fame. Displaying a design that is both distinctive and iconic in structure, we’re not shocked that Nike hasn’t rushed to release a tonne of iterations and collabs for this sneaker. But in recently released imagery by Nike, we’ve got an in-depth look at the most recent adaptation of the OG, nearly a decade after its last modification. Although some adjustments have been implemented to create the Nike Air Huarache Runner, we can confirm that the OG Huarache charm remains perfectly intact.
Within the new Nike Air Huarache Runner, you can kiss goodbye to the classic neoprene textile that once graced the model’s base layer; replaced with a breathable mesh. Miniature Swoosh’s embellish each side of the quarter panel windows as well as the toe box, emphasising the urban edge that the model exudes. But for all of the OG Huarache fans – don’t panic! The spirit of the OG remains, with the adaptation still sporting the classic tongue badge, dimensional overlays and textured midsole.
Flaunting a dynamic brown palette, these Nike Air Huarache Runner’s are giving us all the 2000s vibes. As far as we know, this colourway is one out of four that are yet come. Will this reiteration of a Nike classic take flight? Or will the OG reign supreme? We’ll just have to wait and see.
The Nike Air Huarache Runner is set to drop in JULY 2023, via NIKE & SELECTED STOCKISTS. Make sure you’re locked to our socials @thedropdate for the latest updates as and when we have ’em.
