The partnership between VANS and CARHARTT WIP is a long-standing and prolific one, producing a good number of joint-venture designs over the years.
More importantly though, it is a team-up that makes perfect sense, which is certainly not a given in today’s collab-heavy industry. Vans and Carhartt are so well-suited to each other it’s hard to believe the two American heritage brands weren’t one and the same somewhere down the line. For their Autumn/Winter 2014 offering Carhartt have once again gone with a camouflage print upper – this time around on the Era – printed on the heavy-duty canvas for which they are so well-known. The Camo Mitchell print, designed in the 1950s for use by the US Marine Corps, is left to do most of the talking, with a simple contrasting white sole, stitching, laces, and lining leaving this as a very clean piece indeed.
The VANS X CARHARTT WIP ERA, in both mens and womens sizes, are available now at selected Carhartt WIP stores and can be found online via the link-throughs below.
