Sneakersnstuff co-founders Erik Fagerlind and Peter Jansson stopped by Sole Collector’s FULL SIZE RUN show, alongside Complex’s Matt Welty, to discuss the industry and the expansion of the SNS empire, following the grand opening of their New York store.
SNS has established themselves as one of the premier retail destinations throughout Europe, with stores in Stockholm, London, Paris and Berlin. As we’ve witnessed their rise over the past few years, it was inevitable that they’d soon make their mark in the US – and their latest move does exactly that, with the opening of the new SNS store on 22 Little West 12th Street, New York City. The SNS story is simple but impressive. Gradually growing their personal love and passion for footwear into a reselling venture, it soon became clear that Peter and Erik had the support and business nouse to create a solid retail enterprise.
With the recent launch of their new NYC location, both Erik and Peter discussed the expansion of their business, the continued war between the top two brands and what they’re expecting from 2018. As you’d probably guess, it’s another gripping episode, especially when the discussion turns towards the chain stores, such as Foot Locker, where opinions suggest that we might see a ‘David versus Goliath’ situation taking place soon. “Personally, I always felt like all the independent stores that sort of mean something, that care for product and care for storytelling, combined will probably affect Foot Locker or the mall,” says Fagerlind.
