Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 72 hours, you’ll know that the famed musical duo, Oasis, are returning from their 15 year hiatus. Yep, everyone’s favourite Gallagher brothers will be back on the road in 2025, playing shows across Manchester, London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin to an enormous crowd of adoring fans. Despite the duo’s untimely split in 2009, Oasis haven’t been completely off the radar, with both Noel and Liam Gallagher participating in their own collaborations with adidas over the years.
Kicking off with a stand-alone partnership with the eldest brother, Noel, the adidas Training 72 NG is a pretty iconic artefact in the Oasis x Three Stripes lineage. Released in an ultra exclusive run of only 120 pairs, the shoe was an instant success. Then followed the adidas Garwen ‘Night indigo’, six years later in 2017. Showcasing the epitome of casual 70s steez, these kicks expressed a full-out leather fashioning, featuring the outspoken artists’ face embedded into the tongue. Very humble, of course!
Unfortunately for avid Oasis enthusiasts, this was the last we saw the rock legend collaborate with the German label. However, fans didn’t have to wait too long before the youngest Gallagher brother would have his own line within the SPZL adi sector.
Throughout their time in the limelight, Oasis made their love for adidas known, declaring themselves as both collectors and supporters of the brand. So, it was no surprise when Liam Gallagher joined forces with Spezial for his own silhouette, the LG SPZL. Taking notes from the retro Padiham SPZL, the fresh model debuted alongside his latest album at the time, titled Why Me? Why Not?. Receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from both fans and sneaker connoisseurs alike, the alliance then launched the adidas LG II SPZL in 2022, followed by a ‘Bottle Green’ colourway a year later.
Controversy and rock ‘n’ roll antics aside, we’re gassed for this legendary comeback. And who knows, we might even see another adi collaboratIon on the cards, definitely maybe! Shop the Gallagher x adi collaborations below…
