NIKEiD PENDLETON options are perhaps the most premium way to customise your feet this autumn. Two leading brands, both from Oregon, coming together on footwear is only going to result in great pieces – and this time you’ve got the opportunity to art direct the proceedings! The wool used here comes from sheep born and raised in eastern Oregon on a family ranch that has supplied Pendleton since the 1920s. Pendleton picks specific sheep for wool best suited to the purpose: it’s like an agricultural Savile Row for your feet. The raw wool is cleaned and dyed and then pulled apart, spun together, and turned into yarn. The fact you can work with fabrics of this quality on the iD platform is insane… There will be another set of options arriving in early November, but in the meantime let’s take a look at what’s up now…
To start off, we had a look at the NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW AC PENDLETON iD. The base shoe is a slick version of one of the chunkiest (and most-loved) shoes out there – and you can truly get buckwild with it on here. We’ve opted for blue Pendleton plaid fabric on most of the uppers, with red accents (and Swoosh) – and the unusual black midsole. How d’ya like that one, then?
The NIKE SB ZOOM STEFAN JANOSKI iD PENDLETON takes one of the best shoes in recent years and places it firmly in your hands for customising. The Pendleton fabrics are perfect for a low profile shoe like the Janoski and touches such as waxed cotton laces and the heel tag elevate this into the ‘smart shoe’ territory. We know of people who get away with wearing the Janoski at school and work (and weddings!), but it’s worth remembering that this is one of the best skate shoes of all-time too. We went for green plaid and gold extensively on this one – and we think it looks mighty good!
The ladies don’t get left out with the Pendleton selection either: there’s a good range of models on here for everyone. We had a crack at the NIKE ROSHE RUN MID PREMIUM PENDLETON iD as you can see below. The rugged woven forefoot section should last for ages (and stay looking fresh at the same time), while the Pendleton heel and black quarters take care of the rest of the upper section. Fuchsia detailing on the liner, swoosh and midsole speckles complete the look.
Next up, we picked out the NIKE ROSHE RUN PREMIUM PENDLETON iD for a thorough going-over. It’s a simple shoe, but that just makes it even harder to pick which treatments to use. So many of the options work on this shoe, but we went for a clean grey Pendleton fabric dip all over – and a marbled grey midsole to keep the bottom half looking slick. White eyelets and 2-tone laces add a premium finish.
Each of the three base models (Air Force 1, Roshe Run, Janoski) come in low or mid/high versions, so there’s plenty to play around with. We think the NIKEiD PENDLETON series is perhaps one of the nicest options to reach the iD platform yet. Click the banner below and head over to NIKEiD right now… and be sure to sure tag your creations with #thedropdate when you get ’em! We’ll be taking a look at the next set of options when they drop in early November, so be sure to check back soon.
