The much-loved NIKE X DQM AIR MAX 90 BACON is rumoured to be dropping once again as part of the Air Max 90’s 30th anniversary this year.
The Nike Air Max 90 has proven time and time again just how much of a versatile design it is, continually dropping in a seemingly never-ending array of colours and materials. And if you study the historical collaborations, you’d be hard pushed to find a better and more inspired edition than the Bacon, which came courtesy of the unforgettable Dave Ortiz and his Dave’s Quality Meats store in NYC. DQM was one of the most unique and memorable stores of its era, with Chris Keefe and Dave working in a modified butchers shop where all the products were packaged up like fresh cuts of meat. The store might’ve gone, but the legend of Dave’s bacon-themed Air Max 90 still holds strong today. We’ve seen the colour scheme applied to other models (such as the Nike Air Max 95/360 and the Nike Air Max 90 Current hybrid editions), but this is where it began: put the two shoes on top of each other, heel to toe, and you’ll see that the bacon concept really come to life. A second drop followed the original 2004 release of 1500 pairs, and we’ve been eagerly hoping for another run ever since.
The NIKE X DQM AIR MAX 90 BACON is rumoured for release on FRIDAY 26 MARCH: keep checking back for the full release details. In the meantime, you can check the latest releases at NIKE by clicking the banner below.
