All COMME-ditions Gear: Nike x CDG Air Mowabb
The NIKE X CDG AIR MOWABB reunites Rei Kawakubo’s fashion label with Nike’s All Conditions Gear department for a special tonal update to the classic Mowabb model.
First spotted on the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week, CDG gets to grips with a classic all-terrain model from the ACG archives. Forgoing the usual earthy tones and hues that we are used to finding on ACG models, the Mowabb here receives a fresh all-white tonal dip throughout which gives the design a totally different look altogether. Served up in a choice of black or white, CDG branding replaces ‘ACG’ on the classic triangle logo, whilst the shape of the shoe itself bulks up with extra layers of suede for a formidable presence on-foot. The Mowabb model itself has a core group of fans, so it will be interesting to see what today’s aficionados make of this reappropriated trail shoe.
