The NIKE SB X STRANGELOVE SKATEBOARDS DUNK LOW hands the much-loved Dunk SB over to the creative madmen at Strangelove for a special release, rumoured to be dropping on Valentine’s Day…
Sean Cliver’s artwork for some of the most iconic brands in skate history is the stuff of legend. Take a trip back through the past thirty years of skate graphics and you’ll soon notice that his handiwork stood out again and again. Artistic skills by the dozen, backed up with a humorous edge that remains unsurpassed. Cliver, alongside Marc Mckee, helped propel World Industries and its various sub-brands, such as Blind and Plan B, into the history books with incredibly well-executed artwork, often involving complex silkscreening and a multitude of different inks. Unapologetically controversial at times, their graphic output spoke to a whole generation of skaters in the ’90s and early 2000s. Sean Cliver still creates artwork for the skate scene, via his own company Strangelove, which continues the good work he did for his previous brand, Paisley Skateboards.
Someone at Nike has seen fit to let Cliver and fellow artist Todd Bratrud (who did some amazing artwork for Consolidated back in the day too) loose on a Dunk SB Low. As a result, you’re getting pink suede, velvet and all other kinds of craziness, just as you’d hope for… If the Strangelove decks are anything to go by, then you can expect these to fly out when they drop next weekend.
