Nike is set to revive the Air Max 95 Zip, a distinctive model first introduced in 2001, for the 2025 holiday season. This reissue combines the iconic silhouette of the Air Max 95 with a zippered shroud, offering a fresh take on a Y2K-era design.

The original design featured a patent leather upper with a panel that zipped over the laces, creating a unique, covered look. For 2025, Nike has replaced the leather with shaggy suede, giving the shoe a more textured, premium feel while keeping the signature zip-up detail that makes it instantly recognisable.

The release comes in two colourways. The Triple Black version is entirely monochromatic, with black suede overlays and matching black Air units. The navy option, meanwhile, combines a deep blue upper with a burgundy midsole and bright red accents, creating a striking contrast that adds extra visual interest.

Although the exact release date has yet to be confirmed, the Air Max 95 Zip is expected to drop during the holiday season and will be available in men’s sizing at select Nike retailers and online. With its combination of nostalgia, updated materials, and bold design, this reissue is set to capture the attention of both longtime fans and new sneaker enthusiasts alike.

Keep an eye on the Drop Date’s news page for updates on these and other releases.

What is the difference between the Air Max 95 Zip and the original?

The Nike Air Max 95 Zip differs from the original AM95 in that its signature wavy overlays are concealed beneath a zip-up shroud over the laces, a design element inspired by the Air Max SNDR.
