Today, Nike reveals the NIKE EPIC REACT FLYKNIT: the first running shoe to use their latest innovation in cushioning, entitled Nike React. This new technology redefines possibilities previously offered by foam and other cushioning platforms, to provide the cushioning that runners want and the stability they need.
The Nike React’s upper has been kept clean and simple: the forefoot, toe and arch are sculpted, thanks to the one-piece Flyknit sock that has been precision-engineered for support, flexibility and breathability in crucial areas. It’s minimal and holds itself close to the foot, but also offers reliable support. In contrast to the uppers, the tooling underneath is relatively pronounced and exaggerated. Nike React foam is significantly softer than EVA-based foams of the past, so the midsole had to be enlarged in order to avoid ‘bottoming-out’. The midsole extends beyond the perimeter of its upper around the heel, offering extra stability underfoot. In short, it’s the lightest, softest, smoothest and most resilient foam to ever come from the technical geniuses at Nike.
The NIKE EPIC REACT FLYKNIT is due for release on THURSDAY 22 FEBRUARY: keep checking The Drop Date for the full stockist details as soon as they’re confirmed. Until then, click the banner below to check the latest releases at NIKE ahead of the drop.
