Nike and Jordan Brand have just unveiled the 2017 BHM COLLECTION for Black History Month: a collection that acknowledges African-American athletic achievement and celebrates Black heritage and the power of sport to fuel community action.
For over ten years, Nike has been honouring Black heritage through footwear and apparel for Black History Month, resulting in some spectacular footwear with real thought and meaning behind the designs. This new collection for 2017 features ten models: three Jordan models, three Nike Basketball signature shoes, two renditions of the Air Force 1, the NikeCourt Flare, and the LunarEpic Flyknit.
The 2017 Jordan BHM Collection features the AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO HIGH in both men’s and girls’ editions, and the return of the JORDAN TRUNNER LX. All three designs feature black and gold colouring throughout, whilst the Air Jordan 1s make use of removable velcro patches around the shoes.
The Nike section of the BHM Collection consists of a variety of shoes that span a range of purposes. The NIKE LEBRON 14, NIKE KYRIE 3 and NIKE KD 9 are presented in black, white and gold colours, with additional marble detailing on the sole of Kyrie Irving’s model. The same marble detailing is also utilised on the two AIR FORCE 1 models and again on Serena Williams’ NIKECOURT FLARE. The Flyknit pattern on the LUNAREPIC FLYKNIT echoes the marbling, making this the perfect addition to the collection.
The Jordan Brand component of the 2017 BHM COLLECTION releases on SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY whilst the Nike offering releases on THURSDAY 16 FEBRUARY: check back with us shortly for the full stockist details. In the meantime, click the banner below to check the latest Jordan footwear range at Nike.
