Nike AIR MAX DAY 2017 is just over a month away – and they haven’t held back with the line up of amazing footwear that will dropping to comemorate this special celebration of Visible Air. In addition to the NIKE AIR MAX 1 MASTER and the ATMOS x AIR MAX 1 that was voted to come back in last year’s poll, Nike has several other designs waiting in the wings for the big day that leads up the debut of the new VAPORMAX silhouette. Check out the full line-up of Air Max releases that are dropping over the next month…
Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary
This is the Air Max that started it all. Originally released way back in 1987, the Air Max 1 introduced the world to visible Nike Air cushioning. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, this iconic shoe was first released in three colorways, including the original white, red and grey release that we’re seeing here. This is going to please many people when it drops – and for those who wanted the original shape to return, Nike have answered your wishes…
Women’s Nike Air Max Jewell
Inspired by one of our favourite Air Max models, the Nike Air Max Plus, the Nike Air Max Jewell is the second ever women’s-only Air Max model. An interesting addition to the line-up, the sleek shape keeps things looking aerodynamic on top.
Nike Air Max 1 atmos Elephant
The Air Max 1 atmos was the winner of the Air Max Day 2016 Vote Back campaign by a considerable margin. The collaborative design linked the popular ‘elephant’ crackle leather with bright colours and contrasting black sections to create a crazy-looking edition of the Air Max 1. Originally released in 2006, this shoe has become a highly sought-after design and will be welcomed back by many when it returns this March.
Nike Air Max 90 Ultra Flyknit
The Air Max 90 OG is the original Air Max shoe, with its much-loved infrared colourway still making waves: the Air Max 90 Flyknit updates the original design with a Flyknit upper which also increases flexibility, and a cored-out midsole that decreases weight and offers new levels of comfort.
Nike Air Max LD-Zero
Originally created for Air Max Day 2016 by Hiroshi Fujiwara, the LD-Zero combines a clean, uncomplicated upper (inspired by the 70s-era Nike LD1000 and the Boston) with an updated version of the 360 Air Max unit. The result is an original design that blends classic Nike runner styling with modern comfort.
Nike Air Max 1 Master
A combination of materials borrowed from the most coveted styles in Air Max history, this 30th anniversary edition of the Air Max 1 combines several unobtainable (and expensive) Air Max designs in one shoe. The materials used include the beloved Safari print and plenty of references to other classics. This is one for the collectors
Nike Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 LE
The Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 celebrates 30 years of the Air Max 1, presented as the most innovative Air Max 1 to date, with cored-out ultra-tooling to make it one of the lightest Air Max models ever. The ‘3.26’ placed on the tongue marks the anniversary of the original Air Max 1 design.
Nike Air VaporMax
As Nike says, welcome to the rebirth of Air with the new Nike Vapormax. Featuring a flexible Flyknit upper sat on top of an amazing new Air cushioning system, the Nike Air VaporMax ‘reignites the Air Revolution’. We’ve already seen the Vapormax in its limited edition Comme Des Garçons format, but this new pure edition should prove a lot easier to obtain. We’re looking forward to trying this one out ourselves.
