The NIKE AIR JORDAN 1 LOW SE TOKYO VINTAGE harks back to the Jumpman’s first-ever trip to the Japanese capital in 1996. Michael Jordan played in the Nike Hoop Heroes event with a young Keijuro Matsui, who now plays basketball professionally in Toyama. Matsui wore a UNC-inspired kit carried over onto this month’s ‘Tokyo Vintage’ drop construction, as well as lizard print Swooshes nodding to the Air Jordan 12 worn by Michael Jordan during the ‘96 event. Exposed foam tongues and yellowed midsoles add an aged vintage effect, rounding off this mash-up of lesser-known Jordan Brand history.
The NIKE AIR JORDAN 1 LOW SE TOKYO VINTAGE is due to release on SATURDAY 25 MARCH: follow the banner below to shop the latest from NIKE ahead of the drop.
