Nike ACG Air Revaderchi: On-Foot Shots
ACG fans rejoiced when they heard that the NIKE ACG AIR REVADERCHI was joining the new Nike ACG SS18 collection. As a key component within the original ACG line-up, to leave this wittily-named mid-top hidden away in the archives would have been a travesty.
The original shoe was the Mowabb’s sidekick, with a similar purpose and complimentary styling. Branding was perhaps at the bottom of the checklist when the shoe was designed, resulting in a design that turned heads in a very different way to the norm: it was clearly a well-thought-out, intelligent design, with enough familiar touches for people to realise who was behind it… but where was the swoosh? The new Air Revaderchi stays true to the original 1992 design, with the layered uppers and heel cage across the top and the now-classic speckled midsole and high traction outsole underneath. The all-important inner sock guarantees a comfortable fit, without adding any extra weight to the shoe. This new Gym Red/Habanero Red/Monarch/Geode Teal colour scheme is eye-catching and holds true to the original Revaderchi styling. It might not be an athletic shoe perhaps, but it remains to be a genuinely practical piece of footwear, no matter where you’re walking.
