The NEW BALANCE M770BBB & M770RBB finds one of the most-loved New Balance designs making a strong return to the streets.
Originally introduced in 1984, the 770 linked comfort and technology together to offer a running shoe that provided unparalleled comfort. At last, the 770 returns in the original burgundy colourway, alongside a new complimentary tan suede variation, both of which have been crafted to the highest quality at the New Balance factory at Flimby, UK. According to Mark Godfrey from New Balance, the 770 has been produced in several locations since 1984 but this latest incarnation is based on the ‘Made in Ireland’ version from the New Balance archive. The original shoe was used as the blueprint: every element and measurement you see on this shoe holds true to the original design.
Friend of both New Balance and us here at The Drop Date, Jörg Haas from BEINGHUNTED. got together with the NB team in Flimby to talk about reissues, history and authenticity. In his own words, “Fifteen years ago, in October 2001, I launched BEINGHUNTED. as an outlet to talk about the things I found worth talking about. Design, collectibles, trainers, artists and exhibitions, clothing, and a little bit of music. Even though a lot has changed, the pace has become a lot faster and it might appear as if there is not as much to explore and discover anymore, there is still enough out there to be inspired by“. Check out the special edit below to see Jörg and the 770 in action.
The NEW BALANCE M770BBB & M770RBB launches on SATURDAY 5 NOVEMBER. Check out the release page containing full stockist details by clicking the banner below.
