Introducing a first look at the MIU MIU x New Balance 530.
Luxury fashion’s love for collaborative sneakers has endured its fair share or peaks and troughs over the last decade, much to the amusement of the casual sneaker enthusiast. Just take the infamous Balenciaga x adidas Stan Smith for instance – an ode to those shoes that lived in the depths of the PE lost property bin (?). Flaunting a persona that doesn’t look like they’ve just been run over backwards (as much as the Three-Stripes Balenci’s), the MIU MIU x New Balance 530 blends the Prada-routed label’s charming aesthetic with timeless NB steeze. Debuting the two colourways at their recent Spring/Summer 2024 showing, let’s take a closer look.
Following several textural iterations of the New Balance 574, the label has now turned their attention to the 530. Differing significantly within dynamic exterior, the 530 swaps an ABZORB sole unit for a much flatter construction. Sitting above the minimal outer is a full-suede upper, donning a faded beige and chocolate brown appearance. A lightly distressed finish brings a nostalgic energy, complimented by dual leather and cotton laces.
