The Swoosh powerhouse get ahead of the curve with their first ever Nike SNKRS Showcase 2024.
If there’s one thing we know about the sneaker community, it’s that with word of hot releases comes persistent sneaker leakers. Patience is a virtue, but not in the eyes of these guys, eager to share even a glimpse of what’s to come. Sure, they don’t always get it right, but God loves a trier (and so do keen sneaker connoisseurs). So how does a footwear dominator like Nike combat this issue? By taking matters into their own hands. Introducing, the first ever SNKRS Showcase, unveiling over 30 sneakers that are due to land in 2024. Yesssss, there are a few models that the sneaker leakers have got to first – but generally speaking, these releases are being met to fresh eyes. 1-0 Nike. Revealed and devised into five collections: Classics, Nike SB City of Love, ACG and Retro, let’s take a closer look at what’s on offer for 2024…
What better way to start than with the Classics, featuring Swoosh bangers from the past and present that we all know and love. Kicking it off with the return of two Air Foamposite One colourways in ‘Royal’ and ‘Eggplant’, the cool-toned offerings turn up the heat with a stealthy glow. Arriving from the shallow depths of the Nike vault, 2024 also marks the re-emergence of the LD-1000 (better known Roshe Run), last seen in 2016. Sporting a striking exterior of blue and gold, get ready to flaunt the steeze. Next up are three fresh colour-blocked Dunk Lows – need we say more?! Continuing on with the brightly-hued momentum, the teased Air Force 1 arrives in joyous pink tones.
Thought to land in time with Valentine’s Day 2024, as hinted in the title, this two-part capsule of Parisian Dunks have definitely stolen our hearts. The first sneaker presents a neutral persona of off-white and beige hues, communicated via suede overlays. Arriving in stark contrast, the second offering is flooded in a ‘Burgundy Crush’ display. Expressing plush touches throughout the body, we can practically feel the love from here.
Pushing forward within the Swoosh’s resilient performance based line, Nike ACG, it looks like we’re getting five new silhouettes in 2024. Perfect for those spontaneous on-the-go ventures, a slip-on ACG Rufus’ exhibits a humble palette of mossy green and black. For added foot security without compromising an easily-accessible fit, why not opt for the ACG Izy? Flaunting a sleek zip-up build with a trail-coded construction, this silhouette screams less-is-more. Moving onto the rest of the outdoor capsule, we get ‘Sage’ hits of both the ACG Exploraid and Mountain Fly 2 Low. Wrapping things up is the ACG Torre Mid, arriving in an ‘Olive Grey’ tint.
It comes as no real surprise that Nike has some ice cold Retro kicks up their sleeve for 2024. Revisiting OG’s like the Clogposite, Pegasus 2005, Pegasus Wave, Air Terra Humara and Air Footscape Woven, it’s safe to say that we’re in for a treat. Debuted in three colourways of white, yellow and a stealthy chrome, the Clogposite feels both futuristic and contemporary all at once. As for the Pegasus 2005, five dynamic offerings are well and truly route, working atop a breathable wide-mesh adorned and bold black detailing.
Paying homage to the construction of the OG Air Max, it appears that 2024 holds even more Air Bubble-d beauties to be enjoyed. The SNKRS Showcase unveils three ‘Highlighter’-coded renditions of the Air Sunder Max, significantly contrasting COMME des Garcons Homme Plus’ monochromatic offerings last year. Arriving as an expansion of the iconic ‘Big Bubble’ line-up, we’re also getting a fresh Air Max 1 ‘86, donning a striking royal blue. Finally, the Swoosh are bringing back the Nike Air 180, landing in two contemporary palettes of ‘Ultramarine’ and ‘Full 180’.
