Nike and the Grateful Dead are teaming up to pay homage to the University of Oregon with a standout Air Max 90 design and accompanying apparel collection. This release celebrates the rich culture, music, and history of Eugene, the universityās hometown. The collaboration also shines a spotlight on the annual āGrateful Ducksā game happening on October 25 at Oregonās home field. All in all, a nod to decades of the bandās deep connection with both the city, Nikeās hometown, and the university.

A closer Look at the Grateful Dead x University of Oregon x Nike Air Max 90 ‘Grateful Ducks’…
For this release, Nike and the Grateful Dead go all out with a tie-dye Air Max 90 bursting with neon details. Thereās a lot to see here: the Swoosh is rendered in fuzzy material, paying homage to the iconic Grateful Dead Bears. The heel panel replaces the classic Nike logo with green and yellow Dead emblems. Rainbow stitching runs across the upper, tying the design together.
The tongue features the University of Oregon logo, and lace charms nod to the schoolās beloved mascot, The Oregon Duck. Co-branding on the insoles and tongue completes the look.
The Grateful Dead have long shared a special bond with Oregon, particularly Eugene. Since the 1960s, Jerry Garcia and the band have played over twenty shows in the college town, with archivist David Lemieux even calling the university their āhome away from home.ā
