Craig Green x adidas Stan Smith Reimagines The OG

Arriving as a dual reimagining of the OG Stan Smith, we welcome the Craig Green x adidas Stan Smith collaboration. After first catching a glimpse of the partnership’s latest endeavours during Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, we’re very excited for the iterative capsule to go live. Coming from a perspective of innovation, the collaboration elevates the classic whilst staying true to adidas’ heritage. And the result? A line of refined monochromatic sneakers that ooze timeless appeal, despite their contemporary angle. 

London-born designer Craig Green is no stranger to the Three Stripes enterprise, initially partnering with the brand back in June 2019. The pair are a perfect match when it comes to creative ventures, bringing us progressive models like the adidas Kontuur III, Graddfa AKH and Squash Polta Akh. Now, the duo are turning their sights on the Stan Smith, released in 1963. As per Craig’s experimental approach to revamping the classics, both the Boost and Split iteration are flooded in innovative fashioning. When it comes to streamlined style, they’ve got it covered. Maintaining the fundamental design elements, the CG Boost Stan arrives in an array of unpretentious hues including white, black and silver. Offered in black, white and khaki, the Split Stan keeps it simple but effective. Let’s get into it!

BOOST STAN ‘CORE BLACK’ | IF2991

Starting with the ‘Core Black’ colourway – this iteration feels effortlessly cool without trying too hard. It wouldn’t be a Boost without the, well, Boost – and this very element takes over the midsole and upper. The DNA of the Stan Smith remains confidently present, represented in the classic perforated 3-Stripes and low-profile cupsole. Minimalism done right, if we do say so ourselves.

BOOST STAN ‘SILVER METALLIC’ | IF2993

Perhaps the loudest sneaker of the collection, the Stan Smith Boost ‘Silver Metallic’ boasts a look that does exactly what it says on the tin. Dripping in silver detailing all over, this iteration revels in the shiny hue that has endured an undeniable spike in popularity this year (e.g. Wales Bonner’s silver Samba). Even the lacing, insole, outsole and tongue branding flaunt a grey shade, the perfect cherry on top to this monochromatic masterpiece.

Similarly to the ‘Core Black’, the ‘Core White’ keeps things simple for maximal impact. A fresh white hue. presents a clean and pristine approach, helping to highlight the detailing that glides across the exterior. As we approach winter months, these collaborative kicks are sure to bring ice cold steeze to any ‘fit. 

SPLIT STAN ‘CORE BLACK’ | ID4153

Sporting a far smoother exterior than its Boost counterpart, the adidas Stan Smith Split ‘Core Black’ is the definition of sleek. As the name indicates, the silhouette is halved down the middle with a branded rubber segment. Adorned with collaborative branding aligning with the tongue, this innovative take feels authentically refreshing. The dividing element is carried through the outsole and heel, reminding us of the creative genius that Craig Green possesses. 

SPLIT STAN ‘CORE WHITE’ | ID4155

Bringing a clean snowy hue that couldn’t be more Stan Smith-coded if it tried, the ‘Core White’ Split arrives box fresh. Paying homage to the classic white-with-green-branding DNA of the veterinary model, this iteration dons the playful split with confidence. Style with some baggy jeans and a white tee for a relaxed, yet refined look.  

SPLIT STAN ‘BEIGE TONE’ | ID4154

Differing significantly from the rest of the roster, the Split ‘Beige Tone’ expresses a muddy hue that’s perfect for autumn/winter. Continuing the monochromatic theme, this sneaker exhibits the beige colour throughout the exterior – except for the branding. Highlighted in black, the two hues contrast seamlessly, maintaining the subdued aesthetic.
