Cortica Summer 2015 Collection – A First Look
The CORTICA SUMMER 2015 COLLECTION is the British brand’s first collection, which aims to create progressive hybrid footwear.
The design process makes it a unique product; each element of the shoe is removed, reimagined and reassembled away from convention to form something completely new.
The collection has been designed to provide an unparalleled level of comfort through the material selection and the unique-to-CORTICA components. There are three styles that make up this introductory collection: the INFINITY LACE, the HERCULE and the EPIC, the last of which comes in men’s and women’s sizes.
The lightweight EPIC is the showpiece of the CORTICA ethic, with an SBR neoprene upper that features cutouts in the base of the laces and on the sides. Mesh at the heel provides breathability, whilst a moulded TPU heel counter provides support and an ergonomic footbed and TPU sole unit keep things comfortable. The first collection colourways include Khaki Floral, Black Floral, khaki, navy, black and red.
The INFINITY LACE is a full-cover variation of the EPIC with added support at the toe, a split tongue design and the reimagined infinity lace system that gives the shoe its name. The INFINITY LACE will come in navy, khaki, black and Black Floral.
The HERCULE rounds off the collection with its pull-on style. This model shares obvious DNA with the other models, whilst sporting a simplified silhouette that mixes neoprene and mesh. For the first drop, they will be available in black, navy and khaki.
As we’ve said recently, it’s great to see new British brands coming through and, when they produce products that look as good as these, we’re sure we’re not the only ones thinking this.
