Picking some classic models from the Vans roster isn’t a hard task – the only difficult part is deciding which ones to feature, as almost every shoe shows that core DNA that’s kept the brand on top of the pile. For this round-up, we’re taking a look at four favourites from the archives: the OLD-SKOOL, the SK8-HI, the ERA, and HALF CAB. The Vans OLD SKOOL was the first classic shoe to bare the iconic sidestripe: it’s a low top lace-up with sturdy canvas and leather uppers, re-enforced toecaps and that classic Waffle sole for maximum grip.
The Vans SK8-HI is the classic high top skate shoe at its finest. The durable and reliable upper section is complimented with the padded collar, a classic vulcanized rubber outsole and the Vans Off The Wall tongue patch. There are many styles available now, including the 50th Anniversary and MTE editions.
The Vans ERA is the classic lace-up skate shoe. With style and comfort in bounds, it became a skating legend. Crafted with a soft footbed, double-stitched vamp, padded tongue and lining – and rounded off the sticky, grippy Waffle sole underneath.
The Vans HALF CAB – the original pro model skate shoe, from Bones Brigade legend Steve Caballero – changed everything. Based on the Vans Full Cab, this mid-cut edition of the original design features coated leather uppers, single-wrap foxing tape and UltraCush HD sockliners to keep the foot close to the board.
