Bricks & Wood has teamed up with New Balance again for a new collection, ‘A Different Bounce,’ set to launch during NBA All-Star 2025. Bricks & Wood takes a big leap with this collection, marking their first-ever collaboration focused on basketball performance shoes with New Balance. The collab showcases two models: the Fresh Foam BB v3 and the New Balance 1000.
The Fresh Foam BB v3 is the star of the show for on-court play, designed with basketball performance in mind. It features a bold yellow upper with black and silver accents, making a statement while maintaining the technology and comfort New Balance is known for.
The New Balance 1000, on the other hand, takes a more lifestyle approach. The model blends black and yellow with reflective black overlays, a nod to the lifestyle and off-court culture of basketball. This version represents the way basketball culture permeates everyday life, from the court to the streets. It’s a more casual option compared to the BB v3, but still carries that bold, reflective finish.
Kacey Lynch, the founder of Bricks & Wood, has been working with New Balance since 2021, and this collection is a natural evolution of their past collaborations. Previous projects like the 1906U and 9060 had a focus on vibrant, artistic expressions, and the new collection continues that tradition but with a basketball twist.
For the campaign, Bricks & Wood teamed up with artist Davion Cervantes, adding a personal touch to the collaboration, as he is a childhood friend of Kacey and shares a deep connection with the basketball culture that the collection represents.
The ‘A Different Bounce’ collection will debut on FEBRUARY 14, 2025, exclusively in San Francisco for NBA All-Star Weekend. A wider release will follow, so keep an eye out for the drop on The Drop Date release calendar. The collection includes two models:
The Fresh Foam BB v3, which is a performance-focused basketball sneaker designed for on-court action. Featuring a bold yellow upper with black and silver accents, it’s engineered for maximum comfort and support during play.
The New Balance 1000, which takes inspiration from basketball’s off-court culture. This lifestyle silhouette features a smooth black and yellow colourway with reflective black overlays, making it ideal for casual wear with a nod to basketball aesthetics.
The campaign for the ‘A Different Bounce’ collection stars Davion Cervantes, an artist from South Central LA and childhood friend of Bricks & Wood founder Kacey Lynch. Cervantes’ connection to basketball culture, as well as his close relationship with Kacey, adds a personal and authentic touch to the campaign.
This collaboration stands apart from previous Bricks & Wood x New Balance releases, such as the 1906U and 9060, by focusing on performance basketball sneakers. Whereas past designs emphasized vibrant colours and lifestyle appeal, the Fresh Foam BB v3 brings a more functional, performance-oriented approach to the table.
