Tiger Meets Ape on the ASICS x BAPE GEL-1090
The ASICS x BAPE GEL-1090 reunites the two brands, following their 2015 collaboration project which featured the GEL-Lyte V and GEL-Kayano. This time, the subject in question is the GEL-1090 from 2003 – an unusual but welcome recipient of the conjoined efforts. Taking inspiration from motorcycle design and the notion of speed, BAPE’s signature camo forms the backdrop of the upper section, paired with olive suede across the toebox and heel panels. Black tongues, laces, and liners contrast with vivid orange on the trademark stripes and Tiger claws. Special BAPE Tiger graphics in bright yellow round the design off in classic style.
