The NIKE AIR MORE UPTEMPO INCOGNITO makes the court-to-street transition with style and ease.

Championed by Scottie Pippen, the Nike Air More Uptempo helped the Chicago Bulls player along on the road to his fourth championship and second gold medal in 1996. A true mid-90s icon, this month sees the More Uptempo at the centre of several re-toolings, and whilst the “Suptempo” trio is bound to be the prime catch, there are a flurry of general releases to balance out the hype – including a Chicago Bulls-centric colourway in honour of Pippen, along with a blue and orange Knicks iteration inspired by the Bulls champs’ onetime enemy, Patrick Ewing. An even more general release, however, is the Air More Uptempo in Triple Black, which is ticking quite a few boxes for us.

An all-black edition that eliminates any fuss, the Triple Black features the inflated and brazen “AIR” branding central to the model, which is updated with reflective 3M detailing that also appears on the laces and heel pull, giving the shoe an extra all-eyes-on-me dynamic. Bolstered with an Air Max unit that covered the full length of the sole and elastic bands to the midfoot, the retro yet durable silhouette was never shy of flexibility, and this has been retained in the upcoming Triple Black release.

A ‘90s footwear icon that truly embodies the era’s attitude that bigger was most definitely better, there’s not many basketball models that make the court-to-street transitions as easily as the More Uptempo.

The NIKE AIR MORE UPTEMPO INCOGNITO hits stores on THURSDAY 20 APRIL, so don’t sleep! Check our release page by clicking on the banner below.
