Following the untimely termination of Ye’s partnership with adidas in 2022, the athletic apparel brand has since established a joint decision on the remaining distribution of Yeezy stock. Going off of the word of various industry retailers, we can now confirm that the anticipated Yeezy roll-out will begin from 2nd August 2023. Expected to be released gradually over the course of the year, Yeezy enthusiasts and streetwear lovers can get their hands on over 20 styles – from Yeezy slides, to foam runners, to sneakers.
If you’re out of the loop with all things adidas Yeezy (or just simply don’t care for anything Ye affiliated), the Yeezy partnership was terminated due to antisemitic comments made by the Graduation singer himself. adidas have since publicly expressed their zero tolerance approach towards discrimination, pledging to donate proceeds of adidas Yeezy profit to the Anti-Defamation League and other anti-hate charities.
Despite many retailers’ reluctance to have any sort of association with Ye, business is business, after all. Retailers like Foot Locker are obliged to honour their distributive agreements; the only option in washing their hands of the mess once and for all. Fortunately enough for sneaker fans, this means the roll-out will indeed commence across stockists, featuring a combination of both released and unreleased silhouettes.
