One of the most eye-catching sneaker releases of the year has arrived: the adidas VIRGINIA Jellyfish, designed by Pharrell Williams. In a market largely dominated by low-top trainers, the Jellyfish stands out with a silhouette even chunkier than the Balenciaga Triple S from 2018.
Now, a second colourway of the sneaker is set to be released.
After months of anticipation, adidas unveiled the Jellyfish last month. The debut came in an orange colourway, featuring striking overlays throughout the design. Despite a retail price of €300, the sneakers sold out almost immediately.
It was never a matter of if the sneaker would see a follow-up release, but when. That moment has now arrived. The adidas VIRGINIA Jellyfish ‘Green’ pays homage to Pharrell Williams’ roots in Virginia Beach, while drawing inspiration from marine life.
The model reimagines the 2005 Adistar Cushion, featuring robust 3D overlays. True to its name, the Green colourway combines off-white, green, black, and olive tones. Reflecting the deep-sea theme, the aerodynamic green details on the upper are slightly brighter, evoking the glow of bioluminescent sea creatures.
A release date for the adidas VIRGINIA Jellyfish ‘Green’ has not yet been confirmed. Nevertheless, official images of the sneaker are already available. Keep an eye on the Drop Date’s release calendar for updates on this and other upcoming drops.
The retail price for the sneaker designed by Pharrell Williams is €300.
