The ADIDAS ORIGINALS X WOOD WOOD GAZELLE sandwiches the Danish brand’s colourful 15-year history into an extra special iteration of the classic 3-stripe silhouette.
First established back in 2002, Danish brand Wood Wood celebrate their 15th anniversary year with an extra-special spin on adidas’ ever-iconic Gazelle model. An upgraded design on a German Olympic Team training favourite, the classic silhouette made its way onto the shelves back in 1966, before becoming a pop culture mainstay.
The perfect choice for Wood Wood’s brand celebrations, their collaborative spin utilises a black and white, rough long-haired suede upper, further customised with a dual-branded tongue label that also includes the company’s years of operation. A little like the 3-stripes brand’s City Series models, the Gazelle features a shout out to Nørrebro above the trademark side stripes, giving a firm nod to the Copenhagen neighbourhood where Wood Wood’s brand headquarters are located. A further injection of personality is added with the words “Madness” and “Mayhem” embossed on the heel of the soles. Whether this makes references to football matches or Wood Wood’s colourful history, we’re not completely sure…
