The ADIDAS ORIGINALS x MASTERMIND JAPAN FW16 COLLECTION unites the revered Japanese fashion label with the Three Stripes on two exclusive designs.
Keeping in line with Mastermind’s extensive back catalogue of projects, the colour palette switches to black on this premium collaboration release. First up, the MMJ_NMD_XR1, sees the shoe of the hour, the NMD, expertly dipped in Mastermind’s signature aesthetic. Black is utilised on the shoe’s knitted upper, structural overlays and EVA midsole plugs, complimented by branding details on the insole, tongue and TPU cage. The shoe sits on classic BOOST tooling, with three sets of custom laces to round things off. Accompanying the NMD, the MMJ_TUBULAR_INSTINCT takes the Tubular high-cut silhouette and gives it a monochrome makeover, with a blacked-out upper construction displaying Skull & Crossbones branding on the lateral heel. The shoe’s split-layer midsole tooling features a contrasting white treatment on the heel, whilst the full zip closure on the heel transforms gives the design a smart, casual twist. Joint branding on the insole and tongue round things off, resulting in a truly premium Tubular silhouette.
