adidas is celebrating its 75th birthday with a bang!
Even though the brand’s origins trace back to 1924, it officially became adidas on August 18, 1949, when Adi Dassler registered the company after parting ways with his brother Rudolf, who went on to start PUMA. Fast-forward to today, and adidas is a massive player in the sports and lifestyle world. To mark this big milestone, they’re not just dropping one special sneaker – they’re releasing four: the Samba, Gazelle, Handball Spezial, and the SL 72.
First up is the classic Samba, getting a stylish makeover for the big anniversary. It’s rocking a sharp ‘Core Black’ and ‘Cloud White’ combo, with a luxe leather upper and a sleek all-black sole. If you’re into Sambas, this one’s going to be a must-have.
Next in line is the Gazelle, showing off in a bold ‘Team College Gold’ suede. It’s got that retro vibe we all love but with an extra touch of luxury thanks to the rich texture and vibrant colour. The Handball Spezial is also making a splash with its ‘College Royal’ shade, sporting premium suede that makes it really pop.
And don’t forget the SL 72, making a comeback with its classic 70s style. This one’s got white nylon and alumnia suede with eye-catching red accents, bringing back its vintage athletic look.
All these kicks come with a special ‘75’ branding on the heel and ‘18.08.1949’ / ‘18.08.2024’ stamped inside the collar to celebrate the anniversary.
