adidas by Raf Simons SS16 Collection – A First Look
The ADIDAS BY RAF SIMONS SS16 COLLECTION is built up of three of the designer’s staple silhouettes, as well as introducing a new one.
This 17-pair collection includes multiple colourways of the STAN SMITH, OZWEEGO 2 and RESPONSE TRAIL, all of which we are used to seeing as part of RAF SIMONS collections, but also introduces the new STAN SMITH STRAP. Making his mark on the brand’s most coveted tennis shoe, the STAN SMITH combines elegant leathers with the iconic ‘R’ perforated quarter. Alongside the classic white, it will also come in the two metallic colourways of Light Cooper and silver, as well as introducing shades of Blush Yellow, Ash Pink and Night Marine. The STAN SMITH AGED also makes an appearance, sporting a vintage treatment, in all-over black and white. The OZWEEGO 2 takes a futuristic approach with a running-inspired profile featuring a layered upper and transparent silicone windows. The three colourways come in a choice of either Dark Green, khaki or black, pink and blue. The visually inventive and riotously colourful RESPONSE TRAIL is updated for SS16 in white and green or red and blue.
As we mentioned before, besides these three classic styles, which have become well known silhouettes over the last seasons, the collection also introduces the STAN SMITH STRAP. RAF SIMONS requested a buckle strap version of the STAN SMITH, bringing a new twist of refinement to the original Velcro straps from the 1980s. The new silhouette will be offered in three colourways: green and white, blue and red or black and white.
