Following on from our latest NIKEiD feature on the NIKE AIR MAX 1 iD, we noticed a rather tasty selection of album artwork inspired creations from Sam Brandt.

The Air Max 1 remains one of the most iconic shoes of all time, having been an essential part of the Nike running catalogue since its debut way back in 1987. We’ve seen many colourways and editions over the years, and finding the model is currently up in all its OG glory on the iD site is a revelation. Finding some inspiration for your colour schemes can bring excellent results – and these designs, inspired by some classic hip-hop album artwork, are the perfect example. We’re hard pushed to pick a favourite, but MF Doom’s Operation Doomsday and J Dilla’s Donuts have never looked better!

The NIKE AIR MAX 1 iD is AVAILABLE NOW, so why not dig through your crates and see what you can find for inspiration. Check out Sam’s work at www.instagram.com/hoekon now – and tag your own designs with #thedropdate when they arrive…
