Nike gets back on the All Conditions Gear tip again by releasing a reworking of a stylish hiking silhouette, the NIKELAB ZOOM TERRA SERTIG ’16.
The ’16 iteration comes in two colourways, the first of which closely resembles the OG, being clad in Taxi Yellow/Chile Red/Black/White. The second is a combination of Black and Cool Grey, which is probably better suited for anyone wanting a more muted colour palette for the winter. As is often the case with reimagined retros, the Terra Sertig ’16 packs modern features and materials that are better equipped for inclement weather and contemporary sneaker connoisseurs’ tastes. Accordingly, this new construction has a premium leather upper including a beefed up toe guard. A neoprene mesh sockliner has been added for additional ankle protection, as has a Zoom Air-infused midsole – the latter’s crisp white colour really pops against the yellow/red and black/grey colour schemes.
The heyday of the outdoor-hiking ACG range was during the 1990s with the Zoom Terra Sertig making its debut in ’97. The creative team at Nike has been busy reintroducing these beloved old school models, staying faithful to the original blueprints but adding a host of modern touches, including the Air Zoom Albis that we wrote about in November (also hailing from 1997) and the Lupinek Flyknit Low SFB that dropped earlier in 2016. What are your thoughts on the latest 1990s-inspired ACG release and do you prefer the OG colourway or the Black/Grey version?
The NIKELAB ZOOM TERRA SERTIG ’16 will drop on WEDNESDAY 18 JANUARY: check back for the full release details shortly. In the meantime, you can see the latest footwear at NIKE by clicking the banner below.
