Offspring’s 20th anniversary celebrations continue to roll on with the drop of the OFFSPRING X TIMBERLAND ‘TEA & TOAST’ collaboration.
Working with a 6-inch boot, the retailer and workwear brand have outfitted the upper with premium full-grain nubuck and leather that is coloured like tea and toast. The idea for the shoe’s design comes from the cafes that populated Neal Street in the mid-90s, where the classic British breakfast staple was commonly enjoyed. In a nice and slightly posh touch, the boot’s lining includes a porcelain china-like blue and white illustration of Neal Street including the original Offspring shop. As an added bonus, the boots come in a bespoke ‘bread loaf’ printed box and Offspring 20th Anniversary tissue paper. Naming the collaborative effort ‘Tea & Toast’ follows Timberland’s whimsical tradition of giving its boots nonsensical-seeming names, like ‘Beef and Broccoli’, ‘Mac and Cheese’, and ‘Strawberry Shortcake’. And this isn’t the first time Offspring and Timberland have partnered but it seems especially fitting that they have teamed up again for the shop’s 20th birthday, given the boots brand’s ubiquity during that period in the ’90s. Whether or not you’re feeling the nostalgia vibe, the tea and toast colour scheme is really nicely executed here, in The Drop Date’s not-so-humble opinion.
The boots are available in limited quantities, so if you fancy a bit of tea and toast, you’ll need to move quick. The OFFSPRING X TIMBERLAND ‘TEA & TOAST’ is AVAILABLE NOW via the banner below.
